In 1955, Wayne Lundvall started an apprenticeship for Howard Newsome, the owner of Cody Boot Shop. During his time as an apprentice, Wayne learned the boot repair trade. Four years later, he bought the business from Howard and renamed it Wayne's Shoe Shop.
In 1973, Wayne purchased a few styles of Nocona boots, and Wayne's Boot Shop began. As his business grew, Tony lama, Laramie, Redwing Boots, as well as a few other brands were added to his shop.
Wayne remained in the boot repair and retail business until 1996. He retired, and sold the shop to his son, Kevin. Kevin has remained in the retail business and has further expanded Wayne's Boot Shop to more than just boot repair, western and work boots. Wayne's now carries everything from casual, comfort, shoes to hiking and hunting boots.
On November 17th, 2014 Wayne went to be with his Savior in heaven. Even though he is gone, his memory is strong in Cody, Wyoming.
Wayne stressed the importance of great service and quality products to everyone he served during his time at Wayne's Boot Shop. It is our goal to continue that legacy as we serve you in our store.
